María del Pilar, Teacher Pili to her students, is a passionate and dedicated educator with over 20 years of experience. She began her career at the age of nineteen and has since taken pride in creating a safe, comfortable, and inspiring learning environment. With that in mind, and in search of a professional learning opportunity that would help her continue to fulfill her goal, in 2006 and 2008, she participated in the Teachers Teaching Teachers (TTT) program facilitated by Fundación ProEd, where she had the opportunity to learn from Dr. Debbie Psychoyos and colleagues from other private and public schools.
After participating in TTT a couple more times, she was invited to join the team in 2013, as a facilitator, workshop designer, mentor, and instructional coach for other teachers, who like her, believed in the importance of quality education, and wanted to make a change in our country's education system.
Teacher Pili is an educator at heart. Nothing makes her prouder and more fulfilled than learning from and with her fellow teacher colleagues and witnessing the success of her students. Her greatest dream is to see teachers breaking paradigms, being ingenious and creative, practicing collegiality, and feeling valued and secure in their work, transmitting all of these qualities to their students.
